This is the packing list for the Squadron Ground Team members. Once again, this is just a guide. There may be items on this list that you will not need. But remember, it is always better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. "YUT"
On your person at all times;
- Wallet with all I.D. (CAP I.D., State I.D., CPR Card's, ect.)
- Galsses (if needed), must have a strap for them. DO NOT HAVE CONTACTS

- Spare uniform with insignia (CAPM 39-1)
- Eating Utensils (plastic works best)
- Underwear and T-shirts (shirts MUST be brown)
- 12 pair socks or more
- Wool or polypropylene sweater (Winter operations)
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Shaving supplies or feminine hygiene items
- Personal hygiene supplies (deodorant...ect.)
- Box of handy-wipes
- Ground Cloth
- 3 or 4 MRE's
- Soap and small towel
- Another quart of water
- Shovel - Mil Spec E-Tool
FIELD GEAR
- Swiss Army type pocket knife
- Compass on lanyard
- Orange vest
- Disposable lighter
- Extra boot laces
- 3 or more pair of socks
- Handy-wipes
- Foot powder
- Snack food
- 2 canteens, (or 1 canteen and 1 hydration system)
- 1 or 2 Poncho
- 1" nylon tubular webbing - 15' long
- Leather work gloves
- 2pr. latex examination gloves
- Eye protection (goggles or safety glasses)
- Personal 1st aid kit: (a small one, about 2"x3") Band-Aids, gauze pads, tape, iodine, moleskin, cough drops, alcohol preps, waterless soap.
- Survival kit: metal signal mirror, wooden matches/waterproof with striker, sewing needle & heavy nylon thread, 5' to 10' steel 30 ga. snare wire (trip wire), small pliers, little candle, butane lighter, fishhook, safety pins, garbage bag, mylar emergency blanket, water purifier tabs, 3' heavy duty aluminum foil.
- Flashlight with red cover and spare batteries & bulbs
- Insect repellent (Deet is effective on ticks)
- Sunscreen (winter and summer)
- Handkerchief
- Roll of white toilet paper in waterproof container
- Pencil, pens, protractor, mm. rule, paper, in waterproof container
- Duct tape
- Roll of blazing / surveyors tape
- Can opener - on knife?
- Snacks: granolas, beef jerky, nuts, trail mix
- Saw/knife blade
- Compressed Trioxane
- Tool kit
- Sponge
- Small flashlight (mini-Mag)
- Whistle on lanyard
- Carabineer
- Large magic marker
- Ear plugs
- Knee pads
- Watch
- Baggie or small can of flower (Use to mark trail)
- Binoculars or monocular
MISCELLANEOUS ADVICE
- If you bring a "Snake-bite Kit" you will probably not need it
- If you see a bear, back away SLOW. And never get between mama and her cub.
- Don't eat yellow snow
