Piqua, OhioDon Gentile Composite Squadron provides services to the Miami and Shelby County areas of Ohio.
The term "Composite Squadron" means that we have both adult members (also called senior members) along with young adults (cadets). While we are not a flying squadron, there are still flying opportunities for both senior members and cadets.
As a CAP / Air Force Auxiliarly squadron, we are tasked to fulfill all of the missions of CAP.

For our senior members, if you have a desire to make a difference and serve your country, then join us. Opportunities exist in many different capacities. Even if you are not a pilot, you can participate on an Aircrew as a Mission Scanner or a Mission Observer. If you are a pilot, you can train as a mission pilot, or fly cadets on orientation flights. For pilots and non-pilots, we have many opportunites for Incident command/ mission staff, aircraft marshallers, ground team leadership positions. We also have many needs for administrative help, chaplains, finance officers, communications officers, safety officers, cadet programs officers, and other essential positions.
Aerospace Education
We provide Aerospace Education opportunities to Senior and Cadet members. These include orientation flights, classes, and field trips.
Cadet Programs
If you are between the age of 12 and 18, and would like to turbocharge your life, come out and join us for some adventure. We do things that many young adults never get a chance to do like:
Wear your country's Air Force Uniform
Participate on a ground team, searching for missing aircraft and people.
Orientation flights in a Cessna 172 or 182. Not just a ride... you get to take the controls and learn all about the airplane.
Learn how to fly a glider
Fly in exotic aircraft like the C-17, our nations most capable transport aircraft!
Attend encampments at Wright Patterson Air Force Base
Go to a national encampment, flight school, glider school, engineering school, or maybe even space camp!
Go on field trips to military bases to see things that your school can never show you!
Help out at the Dayton Airshow
Learn how to be a member of a honor guard, and then march in local parades carrying your nations flag
Participate in Drill Competitions
Go to Hawk Mountain Ranger Camp, learn how to survive in the rugged outdoors
Learn how to shoot a .22 Rifle from a NRA certified instructor.
Work hard, and get a chance for an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy
Gain advanced rank in the U.S. Military Enlisted Services if that is your career path of choice.
Meetings
Our squadron meets on Tuesday evenings from 19:00 (that's 7:00pm) until 21:30 (9:30pm).
