The following squadrons have open job positions for willing adult volunteers who wish to serve their community and country:

Civil Air Patrol Group VII HQ - Wright Patterson AFB
Recruiting Officer: The recruiting officer is responsible for seeking out and recruiting both new adult volunteers and cadets into the program. The ideal candidate needs to be personable and outgoing. Job duties include making regular visits to local schools, meeting with teachers, guidence councilors, giving presentations to classes and school assemblies, visiting firehouses, veterans organizations, working with the Public Affairs Officer (PAO) to place articles and advertisments in local media, manning recruiting booths at fairs, conventions, malls, and other gatherings. Reports to the Deputy Commander Seniors.
Emergency Services Officer: The ES Officer is responsible for overseeing the emergency services aspect of the CAP mission. Job duties include: Organize training of squadron members, plan and conduct training classes and missions, oversee missions tasked to this squadron, work with the Comm, Logistics, and other squadron resources to maintain mission readiness. The ideal candidate for this position would already have some experience as part of a public service or military unit that performed missions. This is an ideal position for a firefighter/paramedic/police officer who wishes to expand their training!
Communications Officer: The Comm officer is responsible for maintaining communications capability for the squadron to complete their missions. As part of this job, you may be tasked to setup and operate field communications centers for various activities and missions. Job Duties: Organize and maintain communications equipment, plan and train for communications needs resulting from deployment of the squadron on missions, conduct Communications classes with squadron personnel, participate in communications net's held at the Group and State Level. This is an ideal position for a HAM Radio Operator
Technology Officer: The technology officer is responsible for acquiring and maintaining technology related assets for the squadron. Solicit donations from local companies of technology equipment, implement technology both within the squadron headquarters in support of Aerospace and Cadet Mission, as well as laptops in the field to support field ES operations. Work with the PAO to maintain the squadron website.
Logistics Officer: The logistics officer oversees the logistical requiements of the squadron as it performs its various missions. From the ES side of the mission, the logistics and supply officers assemble and maintain the equipment needed to deploy the squadron into the field for up to a week at a time. During training activities and actual missions, the logistics officers will arrange for delivery of equipment to the field site, arranging meals, medical support, and other needs of the squadron. On the Cadet Programs and Aerospace missions side, the logistics officer will maintain stock of uniforms, uniform items, and other supplies.
Aerospace Education Officer Cadets: This individual is responsible for conducting the Aerospace Education Training for the Cadet Program. Job Duties include: Teaching Aerospace Classes to Cadets, Reviewing Cadet Testing Progress relating to Aerospace, Arranging Orientation Flights, Planning and implementing Aerospace activities including trips to museums, NASA, ATC, and aerospace companies; Conduct the Cadet Model Rocketry program. This is an ideal position for a teacher and/or pilot who likes to work with young adults.
Aerospace Education Officer Adults: This individual is responsible for overseeing the Adult Aerospace Education Program. Job duties include: Conduct Aerospace Classes for Adults, Visit local airports and determine their need for ground schools, Visit local schools and encourage teachers to participate in the CAP Teacher Program including the "Fly a teacher" program. This is a ideal position for a older individual who is a pilot who would like to interact with adults.
Chaplain: The chaplain is responsible for overseeing the moral leadership side of the cadet program, and monitoring the emotional and spiritual well being of all squadron members. Job Duties include: Periodic interviews with all squadron personnel; teaching and/or overseeing the moral leadership program and classes; providing reserve support to the Air Force Chaplains, conducting religious services for the squadron when deployed. This position requires that the individual be a fully qualified member of the clergy with an appropriate educational background.
Moral Leadership Officer: The MLO assists the chaplain in the execution of their duties, including but not limited to teaching moral leadership classes. The MLO may act as a liason to the Group or Wing Chaplain in absence of a squadron chaplain. This is a excellent position for a lay pastor or deacon at a local church.
Cadet Programs Officer: The cadet programs officer is responsible for implementing the cadet programs mission of CAP. Job duties include: monitoring cadet progress through the program, organizing and overseeing training of the cadets in topics such as personal drill, color guard, uniform wear, and military education; working with the AEO Cadets to arrange for Aerospace training and education; working with the ES, Comm, Chaplain, Medical, and other officers to ensure cadets receive required classes and training.
Public Affairs Officer: This individual is responsible for the public face of the squadron. Duties include: writing and placing article detailing squadron activities with local media (newspaper, television news, etc); working with the technology officer to maintain the squadron website; working with the recruiting officer to market CAP to potential members; maintaining other advertising methods including local signage, pamphlets, and other media forms. When the squadron is deployed, the PAO is responsible for acting as the liason between the squadron and local media as they attempt to report on our activities.
Admin officer: Is responsible for handling all of the necessary forms and paperwork that is required of the squadron. Assists members in completing paperwork, maintains squadron records. Reports directly to the squadron commander.
Safety Officer: Conducts safety classes for all squadron personnel. Coordinates with the Group and Wing Safety officers to disseminate saftey directives and information. Is responsible for ensuring that the squadron is compliant with safety regulations. During activities and deployments the safety officer will conduct safety inspections of the area, and the equipment, will observe operations and report safety concerns and work with other squadron personnel to mitigate safety risks.
VSAF Assistant Coordinator: Assists in recruiting and tracking volunteers for the VSAF (Volunteer Support to the Air Force) Program; Interfaces with Base Agencies as they request assistance; Keeps track of hours worked by volunteers; Developing Best Practices documentation for the VSAF Program. Group Aerospace Education Officer: This individual is responsible for conducting the Aerospace Education Training Program at the Group Level. Job Duties include: Coordinating Orientation Flights within the group, Planning and implementing group wide Aerospace activities including trips to museums, NASA, ATC, and aerospace companies; Setup Group level activities such as a group model rocketry competition; Monitor squadron level Aerospace Education programs and assist squadron AEO's in setting up and running their AE program. This is an ideal position for a teacher and/or pilot who likes to work with young adults. Ideal candidate will have been a squadron level aerospace education officer, but all are welcome to apply
Group Professional Development Officer: Maintains and reviews records on all officers within the group; Tracks and encourage officers to engage in their professional development requirements; Coordinate two professional development activities per year; Track and assist in promotion process for officers; Assist Squadron level PDO's
Group Moral and Activities Officer: Implements at least four group-wide social activites for the group to include: Spring Awards Banquet, Summer Picnic, Halloween Party, Christmas Banquet. Acts as protocol officer for all other group ceromonies including retirements, promotions, change of commands, among others.
Group Safety Officer: Perform yearly safety survey of the group and each subordinate unit; Provide safety briefings to the group staff and commanders; Perform duties of safety officer per CAP regulations; Monitor safety at all group activities; Assist Squadron Safety officers as they implement their programs.
